Mother accused of hitting her infant

MILFORD, Ind. (WANE) – A Milford, Indiana mother is accused of seriously injuring her child Police said the child was taken to a hospital for treatment.

According to the Milford Police Department, at around 2:15 p.m. on Friday, February 27, officers responded to a report of an injured infant on Ulrich Drive.

Emergency responders transported the child to a hospital pediatric intensive care unit in Fort Wayne.

Police took the mother, Madison McKenzie Jones, 18, into custody and preliminarily charged her with battery to a child under the age of 14.

Additional charges are pending from the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, according to WISH-TV sister station WANE News.

As of Monday morning, the child was still in serious condition.
